Research and planning: teaser trailer analysis

• At the start of this trailer there is a close up of one of the main characters. 

• This has a dramatic effect on the audience as the mans face is stitched up this suggests that the genre is either a horror, thriller or crime. 

• There is a dark shadow approaching from side this could suggest something dark is coming to the audience. 

• The next shot is a close up of the second main character which zooms out to a medium close up. 

• The man has a torch which connotes he is going to put light onto whatever the problem is, this may mean he is the good guy in this. 

• The next shot has a red tint on it this may suggest that this film involves blood and death. 

• There is then a jump cuts showing different objects this is building up the story for the audience. 

• Next we see a dissolve into a extreme close up of a man wearing glasses we can see the reflection in his glasses to be a collection of papers.

• The sound used throughout the trailer includes diagetic sound of the voice over. 

• Jump cuts are used throughout this trailer, and montages are created by the excessive use of them, this gives the feel of emergency to the trailer. 

• The use of location is very effective as there is many different locations used such as houses, offices, streets and crime scenes, this suggests to the audience that the crime is widely spread.
